Tyler Yacht Club is proud to sponsor Sea Scout Ship 2, Argo.  Sea Scouts is a co-ed program of the Boy Scouts of America, which was organized to address members' boating skills and promote knowledge of our maritime heritage.  Ship 2 is chartered by the East Texas Area Council.

Sea Scout units, called "ships", focus on sailing and cruising either sailboats or power vessels. During the boating seasons, Sea Scouts learn to maintain and operate the vessel, with a focus on learning the safe and proper methods of handling boats. Sea Scouts also learn the meaning of buoys and lights, how to take advantage of wind and tide, and how to drop anchor or approach a dock.                                                                                                                                                                 

Formal meetings are held on the first and third Sunday of each month at Tyler Yacht Club.  Applications are accepted for youth ages 14 until 21, both male and female.
